Clifford Chance Prague Association advises Československá obchodní banka in relation to project financing of solar energy power plant FVE Saxonie

Clifford Chance Prague Association has advised Československá obchodní banka, one of the major players in the Czech banking market, in connection with project financing of development and operation of solar energy power plant FVE Saxonie.

Our Banking & Finance legal team provided full support through the financing process, especially preparation of the facilities agreement, security documents and other relating documents, and our Real Estate team conducted due diligence in relation to the land designated for the development of the solar energy power plant and other elements in connection with the financing.

FVE Saxonie, with an installed capacity of approximately 49.9 MWp, will be located near the city of Most in Ústí nad Labem Region. The project was originally developed by Sev.en Inntech, a Czech energy company within the Sev.en group, but was subsequently acquired by a joint-venture of KGAL and MICRONIX. The construction of the power plant commenced in April 2025, with MICRONIX overseeing the process.

MICRONIX Group is a family-owned enterprise headquartered in Prague. With more than 50 companies in Central and Eastern Europe, MICRONIX provides high-quality tailored solutions for renewable energy supply, thus contributing to the development of decentralised energy generation capacity with environmental and social responsibility.

KGAL is a Luxembourg-based fund focused on the European renewable energy generation market. With the goal of supporting the decarbonization of Europe’s electricity generation mix, KGAL’s investment strategy emphasizes diversification by targeting photovoltaic and onshore wind projects, while maintaining a strong commitment to sustainable investments.

The Clifford Chance Prague Association team advising on this transaction was led by associate Tomáš Kubala and counsel Dominik Vojta under the supervision of managing partner Miloš Felgr. The team was further supported by associate Ondřej Dolenský and junior lawyers Šimon Pavlas and Radek Sikora.
